GLOBAL CONSERVATION
Gatorland Global partners with organizations around the world to protect and conserve endangered crocodiles and their rapidly diminishing ecosystems.

CUBA CONSERVATION
Cuban crocodiles, found only in the Zapata Swamp on mainland Cuba and recently reintroduced on the Isle of Youth, have the most restricted range of any crocodile species on earth. Habitat modification and illegal hunting have severely threatened the population.

Gatorland Global is proud to support the Enterprise for the Conservation of Zapata Swamp, a group of dedicated scientists focused on the conservation of Cuban crocodiles.

JAMAICA CONSERVATION
Gatorland Global partners with Holland Bay Crocodile Sanctuary, which works to protect and conserve the American crocodile population in Jamaica through breeding and release programs, as well as rescue, recovery, and rehabilitation for injured animals. The sanctuary also works to educate communities and schools in the surrounding areas on how to live safely around crocodiles.

Holland Bay Crocodile Sanctuary
The sanctuary, located in Saint Thomas, Jamaica, provides a home for over 60 crocodiles and requires more than $25,000 annually to maintain operations. Gatorland Global is proud to be one of the international partners helping to support their incredible work.

VENEZUELA CONSERVATION
Found only in the Orinoco River basin in Venezuela and the Meta River basin in Colombia, Orinoco crocodiles are among the most critically endangered crocodiles in the world.

Partnering for Species Recovery
Gatorland Global is proud to support the recovery of Orinoco crocodiles as part of the “Back to Los Llanos Project,” working alongside leading animal care facilities and the authors of the Plan of Action for the Conservation of the Orinoco Crocodile, which has successfully reintroduced four populations into areas where the species had disappeared.

At Gatorland, we have raised two Orinoco hatchlings for release into their natural habitat in Venezuela. In 2025, our crocodile experts will travel to Venezuela to release the crocodiles, demonstrating Gatorland Global’s hands-on commitment to ensuring a future for this remarkable species.
